Investigations of a suspected stabbing continue in Hamilton

Police are investigating a suspected stabbing that took place in downtown Hamilton earlier today after receiving a call of an alleged shooting.

On Monday (Sept. 4) shortly before 12:30 p.m., police say they responded to reports of a shooting in the area of King St. W. and Bay Street N., east of George St.

Police say they located one victim with non-life threatening injuries.

“At this time there is no evidence to suggest a shooting took place,” investigators say.

According to police, a 25-year-old is under arrest.

The circumstances surrounding the incident are still under investigation.
