Housing prices may seem unattainable to many people – especially first-time buyers – but there are bargains available.
Real estate firm Zoocasa looked at properties on the market across the Canada for under $500,000 and came up with eight gems, including a loft-style apartment in an historic building in downtown Hamilton listed at $499,900.
There were one-bedroom condos in Toronto (Rosebank Road), Blue Mountains (ON) and Victoria on the list, as well as a two-bedroom condo in Calgary, three-bedroom homes in Brantford and Edmonton and a 5-bedroom home in Essex County, near Windsor, where rents and housing prices are still relatively affordable.
The property in Hamilton is a 1,000 sq. ft, 1-bedroom penthouse apartment in the Stinson School Lofts, a former school that was built in 1894. The building, converted to condominium loft apartments, is now home to modern – while historic – apartment units.
