Heavy police presence for homicide investigation in Hamilton

Police are on scene for a homicide investigation in Hamilton this evening (Mar. 6).

An unidentified male was found dead in the area of Tisdale and Erie Ave, near the intersection of Main St and Wentworth St S.

While police have not confirmed the cause of death at this time, early reports indicate the male was dumped from a vehicle with a gunshot wound to his head.

The incident occurred just before 6 p.m. and the victim is believed to be 30-40 years old.

A dark sedan was seen leaving the area. No further suspect description is available at this time.

This is the city’s first homicide of the year, according to police.

Residents may want to avoid the area as a heavy police presence remains at the scene.
