Hateful graffiti discovered in Hamilton

Hateful graffiti found at a Hamilton home has prompted a mischief investigation.

The graffiti was discovered at a home near John Street South and Charlton Avenue in Hamilton, police said. The area is home to several apartment buildings, detached houses, an Anglican church and McMaster University’s Charlton Campus.

Investigators did not specify the nature of the graffiti or where specifically it was found. However, the Hate Crime Unit is investigating it as hate-related mischief.

They did note it was discovered around 5:30 a.m. on Sept. 24. “Area residents are requested to check and review their security cameras for any suspicious activity between the hours of 2:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m,” police said.
