Hamilton’s Dundurn Castle, Battlefield House give visitors a taste of a Victorian Christmas

As Christmas 2023 approaches, Hamiltonians can get a chance to step back in time to see what the holiday were like in the days of yore at both Dundurn Castle and Battlefield Park.

At historic Dundurn, visitors can enjoy the beauty of a Dickens-style mid-19th century family Christmas celebration, with the castle decorated in Victorian splendor with cedar boughs, ribbons and dried flowers supplied by the Garden Club of Hamilton.

Bring your family and share a Hamilton holiday tradition from noon to 4 p.m. today and Friday.

Tickets are $14.74 for adults, $12.75 for seniors/youth and $9 for kids. Family packs are available for $40.75.

Also on tap December 21 & 22 are tours at Battlefield House Museum and Park. Gather your family, take a break from holiday shopping and walk the beautiful landscape of Battlefield Park, followed by a guided museum tour to experience an early 19th century home in wintertime with warmth, welcome and enticing aromas in the air.

Tickets for the noon to 4 p.m. events are $9 for adults, $7.75 for seniors/youth and $5.50 for kids. Family packs are $24.75.
