Hamilton’s Crombie named OHL Player of the Week

Hamilton native Calvin Crombie was named the OHL Player of the Week after recording 10 points and leading the Brantford Bulldogs to three wins in three games.

The 19-year-old right winger had a goal and nine assists during the week to improve his season stats to a goal and 10 assists for 11 points in seven games.

Crombie, who plays on the Bulldogs’ top line with Nick Lardis and Patrick Thomas, opened last week with three assists in a 5-1 win at home versus Sarnia on Wednesday. In Ottawa on Friday, he scored once and added three assists to help Brantford double the 67’s 6-3.

He finished the week with three assists in a 3-2-win Saturday over the host Kingston Frontenacs.

The second-year forward was a 15-round draft pick (297 overall) of the London Knights in the 2022 OHL Priority Selection.

Also considered for the award were Lardis, who had six goals and two assists in three games with the Bulldogs, and Kitchener Rangers forward Adam Misaljevic with seven points (3-4-7) over three games.
