Maintenance work is now complete for Hamilton’s Sir Allan MacNab Recreation Centre.

Drop-in programs will start Sept. 5 and registration for fall programs will begin Sept. 13 at 8 a.m.

The centre at 145 Magnolia Drive was closed since July 1 because of maintenance work on the parking lot and facility.

The closure enabled all required maintenance work to be completed safely at one time, which minimized disruptions in service and programming, according to the City.

The maintenance work included resurfacing and line painting for the entire front parking lot, installation of a new water heater, re-grout, tile repairs and deep clean of the pool. As well, repairs were done to the drain on the pool deck and in change rooms. The small pool’s jet pump was replaced along with light fixtures on pool deck. Some of the interior walls were painted.

“The City of Hamilton thanks residents for their patience throughout this project and is excited to welcome residents back to this facility,” the City wrote on its website.
