The mother of provincial NDP leader Andrea Horwath passed away Monday (Jan. 27) the part confirmed in a tweet extending their condolences.
The mother of provincial NDP leader Andrea Horwath passed away Monday (Jan. 27) the part confirmed in a tweet extending their condolences.
The tweet says that Horwath’s mother, Diane, passed away in Hamilton.
It’s with heavy hearts that we confirm @AndreaHorwath’s mom, Diane Horwath, passed away today in Hamilton.
We hope the outpouring of love & support for Andrea, her son Julian, and the entire Horwath family will help them find peace now, and in the difficult hours & days ahead.— Ontario NDP (@OntarioNDP) January 27, 2020
There is no confirmation on the cause of death.
Diane, who was in her mid-80s, was an outspoken supporter of her daughter’s career and was spotted on various campaign trails throughout Horwath’s career.
“We hope the outpouring of love & support for Andrea, her son Julian, and the entire Horwath family will help them find peace now, and in the difficult hours & days ahead,” the NDP tweet said.
There is no word on funeral arrangements at this time.
