Pair of Hamilton men facing multiple drugs, weapon charges

Two men from Hamilton are facing multiple drug and firearm charges, following a bust that stemmed from a pair of overnight vehicle stops.
Hamilton Police Service says that on Wednesday night and the early morning on Thursday (Dec. 29-30), officers caught sight of a pair of vehicles in the downtown area in violation of the Highway Traffic Act.
Through further investigation, HPS officers determined that in both of these separate, non-related traffic stops the drivers were in possession of illicit drugs, large sums of Canadian currency and other evidence to support the trafficking of illicit drugs.
The arresting officers seized: 253 grams of cocaine; 7.9 g of crack cocaines; 21.1 g of fentanyl; 284 g of cannabis; 138 hydromoph pills; 396 codeine pills; 66 g of MDMA; and, 309 g of GHB. They also seized scales, $5,700 in Canadian currency, cell phones, a .22 Glock pistol, and ammunition.
Each man is facing nine criminal counts. Those include possession of a prohibited farm, multiple counts of possession of a illegal or controlled substances, and possession of cannabis for the purpose of selling.
Hamilton police did not release the names of the two men. The HPS usually does not publicize the names of people facing charges until they have made an appearance in court.
