Hamilton man wanted in ‘targeted shooting’

Hamilton Police are searching for a man wanted in connection with a “targeted” shooting in downtown Hamilton.

Police were called to an alleyway near Market Street and Hess Street around 5 a.m. on June 23, 2024, after reports of a shooting.

A victim reported that he got into a verbal argument with the accused, who he alleged fired a shot at him.

“The shot missed and the victim fled unharmed,” said Hamilton Police. “The investigation determined that a single round had been fired in what is believed to have been a targeted shooting.

A warrant has been issued for 44-year-old Kevin Johnson of Hamilton. He is wanted on the following charges:

  • Possession of a loaded prohibited firearm.
  •  Knowledge of an unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
  • Assault with a Weapon
  • Discharge a Firearm with Intent
  • Fail to Comply with Release Order -2 counts
  • Possession of a Firearm contrary to Order – 3 counts

Johnson is considered armed and dangerous. If seen, contact 911 immediately.
