Hamilton man struck and killed after walking on Lincoln Alexander Parkway

A man has died in hospital after being struck by a vehicle while walking on Lincoln Alexander Parkway in Hamilton last night.
Hamilton Police say the incident happened around 10:21 p.m., when a 30-year-old man was seen walking on the roadway and was subsequently hit by a passing vehicle.
The victim was taken to Hamilton General Hospital, where he later died from his injuries. No further details about the victim have been released by officials.
Prior to the collision, Hamilton police say they received multiple reports of a person walking on the roadway of the Lincoln Alexander Parkway.
The driver of the vehicle that struck the man remained at the scene and is cooperating with police, as is another driver who swerved to avoid hitting the pedestrian.
At this time, police say alcohol and speed do not appear to be factors in the incident.
The Hamilton Police Collision Reconstruction Unit is seeking witnesses who may have seen the crash or have information that could help in the investigation.
Officers are also asking motorists who were in the area at the time to check their dash cameras for any relevant footage.
