Police say they’ve confirmed that two suspects of a homicide in Stoney Creek have fled the country.

The incident in question happened on the evening of February 28, when 39 year old Tyler Pratt was found dead from gunshot wounds at a property on Arvin Ave.

A 26 year old woman was also found suffering from serious injuries and was rushed to the hospital in serious condition.

Arrest warrants were issued for Toronto residents Oliver Karafa, 28, and Yun (Lucy) Lu Li, 25, who are wanted for First Degree Murder.

It’s believed the suspects fled the scene in a new model white Land Rover SUV, which was recovered by police.

In an update on March 26, police said both suspects boarded a flight from Canada to Eastern Europe approximately 24 hours after the murder of Tyler Pratt and the attempted murder of the second victim.

“Hamilton Police are working closely with international authorities and we are positive that our investigation will lead to your whereabouts. We will continue to relentlessly pursue you,” said police, encouraging the suspects to turn themselves in.

The motive behind this incident remains unknown.

Pratt is the city’s third homicide victim of 2021.

Anyone with information related to the whereabouts of Karafa and Li is asked to contact Detective David Tsuchida at 905-546-4123, or contact Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477 or via crimestoppershamilton.com.
