Developing technical skills is one way to become extra employable, and a brand-new program by Goodwill Amity in Hamilton is offering a chance to do just that.

Goodwill is starting its next cohort of its SWIM (Successful Women In Advanced Manufacturing) course in two weeks, on Jan. 16. The four-week training program is intended to support individuals who identify as a woman who are seeking a career in the manufacturing industry, by providing them with not only the skills, but business acumen to break into and advance in the manufacturing sector.

“At the end of the training period, participants will have direct access to interview for some of Ontario’s top manufacturing employers,” Goodwill says.

The online registration tool asks prospective participants whether they are eligible to work in Canada, reside in either Hamilton or Halton Region, and are not working more than 20 hours per week.

This project is funded by Employment Ontario and City Schools by Mohawk College.
