Hamilton driver intentionally rams pedestrian downtown, police allege

A man has been arrested in Hamilton after police allege he intentionally rammed a pedestrian.
On Monday, a pedestrian was struck near Barton Street East and Prospect Street North in the Stipley neighbourhood. The area is home to several stores, homes and a church. The driver allegedly fled the scene after the crash.
The resulting police investigation concluded the driver, 41, who police have not named, intentionally crashed into the pedestrian. The driver is charged with:
- assault with a weapon
- failure to stop after a collision causing bodily harm, and
- dangerous driving causing bodily harm
