Gun seized and man arrested after early morning disturbance in Hamilton

A man is facing multiple charges after police seized a gun during an early-morning disturbance call on Saturday in Hamilton.
Officers were called to the area of Jackson Street East and Ferguson Avenue around 3:45 a.m. for reports of a disturbance.
Investigators did not elaborate on the specifics of the reported disturbance.
Police say they became aware that one of the individuals involved might be armed.
With assistance from the Emergency Response Unit, police arrested the individual shortly after 7:30 a.m.
Officials say a man is facing charges of mischief under $5,000 and unauthorized possession of a firearm. He remains in custody and is awaiting a court appearance.
Authorities did not provide additional details about the suspect including his age or place of residence.
