Fatal shooting victim identified in Hamilton

A shooting in Hamilton last night is under police investigation after a man was fatally shot, while the suspects fled the scene.
Hamilton Police responded to reports of shots fired, near Queen Street North and York Boulevard, just west of Barton Street.
According to investigators, a man was found shortly before 11 p.m., suffering from a gunshot wound.
It is reported by DR Media 371, that the victim suffered a gunshot wound to the chest.
He was transported to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
The victim has since been identified as 29-year-old Daniel Musafiri from Hamilton.
Police say, suspects were observed fleeing the area, and currently there are no available suspect or vehicle descriptions.
Authorities have not confirmed if this was a targeted incident or if the victim and suspects were known to each other.
A heightened police presence is anticipated in the area. Investigators urge individuals who were in the area at the time or possess video evidence to contact Detective Dave Tsuchida at 905-546-4123.
