One man is dead and another is in hospital with serious injuries following a crash in Flamborough Friday morning (Oct. 15).

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) said a portion of Highway 8 in Flamborough, between Cons. 5 and 6, is closed as officers remain on the scene of a two-car crash, head-on collision that took place just after 7 a.m. Friday.

A 52-year-old man from Cambridge was pronounced dead at the scene, police said, adding that he was alone in the car.

A 33-year-old man from Ancaster was alone in the other vehicle and he is in hospital with serious injuries, police said.

The Burlington detachment of the OPP is investigating the crash and they are appealing to any witnesses who might have been in the area of the collision at around the time it happened to contact the detachment.

The road is not expected to reopen until sometime this afternoon after emergency crews have cleared the scene.
