End With a Kiss: Improv tribute to Hallmark movies returns to Hamilton theatre

End With a Kiss, the fully-improvised tribute to Hallmark movies, returns to the stage this December to celebrate the holiday season.
The Red Brick Theatre production sold out all eight shows in the summer, winning “Best of the Fringe” honours at the Hamilton Fringe Festival.
End With a Kiss will return for five shows from Dec. 1 to 4 at the Staircase Studio Theatre on Dundurn St. North.
The show pays tribute to Hallmark movies and pokes fun at them.
The cast creates a 90-minute “movie” onstage that is fully improvised, using some assistance and suggestions from the audience.
“Each show is completely made up on the spot, using the familiar Hallmark movie formula, and, of course, will end with a kiss!” reads the official show description.

The show was created and is produced by Craig Logue, and directed by Brie Watson.
“I’m thrilled to bring End With a Kiss back for more shows after the success of our summer run,” said Logue. “We were pleased with the turnout and the interest in having it come back, so we’re devoting this run to where it all began for Hallmark: the Christmas movie.”
“Hallmark movies are perfect for a comedy show because they’re so familiar and formulaic.”
Jacob Ollivier is the music director, live-scoring each show on the piano.
The same cast from End With a Kiss’ summer run is also back. It includes Alan Belerique, Kristi Boulton, Aaron Boyd, Hannah Gallant, Phil Johnston, and Jo Anne Tacorda.
Tickets are $20 and are now on sale at redbricktheatre.com.
Red Brick Theatre was founded by Logue and is a new Hamilton-based professional theatre company that presents scripted and unscripted comedy shows, launching with End With a Kiss and planning more shows in 2023.
