Elderly man seriously injured in Hamilton assault

An elderly man was seriously hurt after he was attacked in a Hamilton parking lot and his attacker remains at large.
According to Hamilton Police, the man was in his apartment building parking lot at 70 Jerome Crescent around 4 p.m. on Sept. 2. The Ben Dal Estates building sits in Riverdale West just east of Red Hill Valley Parkway and north of Barton Street.
While in the parking lot, an unidentified man attacked the victim, police say. The attacker then fled the scene on an e-bike. Good Samaritans rushed to help the victim while they awaited first responders. The victim suffered serious injuries in the attack.
Investigators have provided an image and description of a suspect in the attack. They describe the suspect as a 40 to 50-year-old white man with a medium build and short greying hair. He was wearing blue jeans, a black collared T-shirt and white running shoes
