Two people from Hamilton have been charged after officers found a stash of weapons and drugs during a traffic stop in Dryden.
The drug bust happened on Wednesday when the OPP says officers stopped a vehicle on Government Street in Dryden shortly after 12 p.m.
That’s when officers found undisclosed quantities of suspected cocaine, fentanyl and methamphetamine, as well as brass knuckles, a conducted energy weapon (also known as a Taser), a switchblade knife, Canadian currency and “items associated with drug trafficking,” according to police.
Two people from Hamilton were arrested and hit with multiple charges including several trafficking-related offences and three counts each of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
Joseph Paquette, 54, and Amanda Duhaime, 39, both of Hamilton have been charged. Both of the accused have been held in custody and will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Kenora on Dec. 1.
