Drug dealing and weapons charges laid against Hamilton man

A 23-year-old man is accused of dealing drugs in an alleyway in Hamilton, resulting in his arrest and seizure of a loaded firearm, Hamilton police said.
A Hamilton officer observed a drug transaction occurring in the area of King William Street and East Avenue on Saturday, Aug. 12.
The individual attempted to flee from police but was found and arrested. Police found a loaded firearm.
They arrested Chngkouth John Makuag of Hamilton. Some of the charges against him include:
- unauthorized possession of a prohibited firearm
- carrying a concealed weapon
- possession of prohibited weapons, including a gun and knife
- possession for the purpose of trafficking fentanyl, methamphetamine and cocaine
- proceeds of crime under $5,000.
