Driver in hospital after vehicle collides with hydro pole in Hamilton

A man is in the hospital after his vehicle veered off the road and crashed into a hydro pole in Hamilton on Friday afternoon.

On Sept. 1, at approximately 4:15 p.m., police say a driver in a Sedan was travelling on Wilson St. W., when his vehicle left the road and crashed into a hydro pole.

As a result of the accident, the driver who was the only occupant in the vehicle, was taken to the hospital where he remains in critical but stable condition, officers say.

According to investigators, two other passing vehicles sustained minor damages from the downed hydro pole, with no reported injuries to the occupants.

The Hamilton Police Service Collision Reconstruction Unit arrived at the scene and the area was closed off for several hours for further investigations.

Since then Wilson St. W, has reopened to motorists.
