Driver dies after car hits a median and crashes into another vehicle on Lincoln Prkwy in Hamilton

A 23-year-old driver died early this morning in Hamilton after his vehicle hit a median on Lincoln Prkwy before colliding with another vehicle.
On Saturday, (Aug. 26) just before 9 a.m., police say a 23-year-old man was driving a black BMW westbound on the Lincoln Alexander Pkwy near Upper James St., when the driver lost control, crossed the center median, and collided with an eastbound Ford motor vehicle operated by a 72-year-old woman.
According to investigators the man sustained life-threatening injuries and was declared deceased at the scene.
Police say the 72-year-old woman was transported to a hospital with significant, but non-life-threatening injuries.
The Hamilton Police Service Collision Reconstruction Unit was alerted and is leading the investigation.
Both directions of the Lincoln Alexander Pkwy., at Upper James St. were shut down for several hours during the investigation, police say.
