Driver charged with speeding in downtown Hamilton

A 26-year-old driver was charged with speeding and stunt driving in downtown Hamilton over the weekend.
Hamilton police said the driver was travelling 48 kilometres per hour over the limit at York Boulevard.
Police could not provide hamilton.insauga.com with more details about the incident.
Traffic violations involve fines and sometimes demerit points that are added to the driver’s licence depending if the person is a new driver or has a full licence. Drivers can lose their licence if they reach a certain number of points.
