Berhane Eshe of Hamilton evidently knows how to pick ’em, since he won a total of $50,100 playing the Daily Keno provincial lottery game.

Eshe, 63, made a Daily Keno 8-pick that resulted in a $50,000 win in the Oct. 25 evening day. A $100 win in his 4-pick bumped up his windfall.

In Ontario Lottery and Gaming’s Daily Keno, players select the size of their wager ($1, $2, $5 or $10), and pick between two and 10 numbers from 1 to 70. They then match their numbers to the 20 drawn. The maximum prize is $2.5 million.

Eshe bought his ticket at Mac’s on Upper James St. and checked it immediately.

“I told my wife and she said, ‘Are you serious?’ ” the 63-year-old shared while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his winnings.

Eshe plans to invest his winnings in some home renovations.

“It feels good,” he said.
