A woman has been charged after police claim she crashed into a train.

The train triggered the railway crossing barrier near Cochrane Avenue shortly before 2:30 p.m. on Feb. 21.

Meanwhile, the car continued through the barrier and collided with the train. Inside was the driver, 38, and her daughter, 2. Both were injured and required medical attention in hospital. They’ve since both been discharged.

Following a week-long investigation, Hamilton Police charged the driver with dangerous operation and negligence. She has since been released and will appear in court on April 16.

Anyone with information about the crash can call 905-546-3948.
