Church burglar at large in Hamilton

A church burglar is at large in Hamilton, prompting a police plea for help identifying him.
Hamilton Police are investigating two church break-ins. The first occurred Oct. 19 on the west side of Hamilton Mountain. Police did not specify which church was hit. There are several in the area. When officers responded the found the church had been forced open and several items were missing. There was no sign of the burglar.
Investigators believe the same man later broke into a Sherman Ave. church on Nov. 18. Police again did not specify which church, but the only one on Sherman Ave. is St. Anne’s Catholic Parish.
Police describe their suspect as a 30-year-old man with a medium build and a full dark beard. He was wearing a flat-brim baseball hat with a circle emblem, a black sweater featuring a design on the front pocket and left chest, dark pants, and white and black DC Shoes
The Break and Enter, Auto Theft, Robbery (BEAR) Unit investigators are urging the public to come forward with any information that may lead to the identification of the suspect,” police said.
