Christmas season begins with tree lighting in Hamilton

Hamilton is set to usher in the Christmas season with a tree-lighting ceremony this week.

The ceremony will be held on Nov. 16 at the CF Lime Ridge Mall at 999 Upper Wentworth St. on Nov. 16. The event starts at 5:30 p.m., hosted by Sunni Genesco from Bounce Radio 102.9. The event will feature a “mix of performances, special guest appearances, music and entertainment highlighted by the grand finale tree lighting countdown,” the mall wrote.

Special guests include Mayor Andrea Horwath, Hamilton Mountain MP Lisa Hepfner and Ward Seven Councillor Esther Pauls. Meanwhile, the Hamilton Philharmonic Orchestra and The Harlequin Singers will feature as musical guests.

Additionally, the Hamilton Food Share will be at the event to collect non-perishable food. Cash donations can also be made online.

The event will be held just inside entrance number one between the Eddie Bauer and Old Navy.
