Canada’s priciest poutine? Hamilton makes the list

If you want to indulge in Canada’s classic dish, Hamilton isn’t a cheap place to do it.

That’s according to a new study that found Hamilton has the second most expensive poutine in the country with an average price of $26.54.

BonusFinder Canada, a source for online gambling bonuses, conducted the study to find the best cities in the country for poutine.

Using data from restaurants in Canada and TripAdvisor, the research revealed an increase in the price of poutine in certain cities. The data showed that the average price of poutine in Canada is $23.

Hamilton is tied with Edmonton with the second-best average restaurant rating of 4.19 out of 5. It’s only $3.54 more than the average price recorded in Canada.

Price-conscious poutine lovers will pay top dollar on poutine in Brampton. Brampton has Canada’s priciest poutine with an average price of $33.38 per dish.

Its poutine is almost 50 per cent higher, or $10.38 more, than the average Canadian price. Brampton also has the highest average rating with 4.25 out of 5.

The study assessed estimated average meal prices and user value ratings to create a ranking metric for each city.

Edmonton was third in the ranking with an average price of $23.97 for a poutine. Edmonton’s poutine is less than a dollar up from the national average. It has the second-best average restaurant rating at 4.19 out of 5.

Quebec is fourth with an average poutine price of $23.11, slightly up the national average.

Calgary ranks fifth with a poutine price below the average at $21.40. Laval ($20.97), Montreal ($20.54), Toronto ($20.54), Winnipeg ($19.26) and Halifax ($17.98) rounded out the list.
