Brace for delays on busy Hamilton road for six weeks

Motorists face lane restrictions on a busy road in Hamilton for about six weeks starting Monday, Aug. 28.
Crews will be doing lane widening work on Garner Road East between Anson Drive and Miller Drive in Ancaster.
The City of Hamilton said motorists may experience delays.
In addition, both Westover Road lanes between Sodom Road and Highway 8 are closed for about four months in order to “safely complete bridge maintenance,” according to the City.
The lanes are expected to reopen in December.
The scope of work includes roadway milling and paving.
Motorists are advised to detour around the closure using Highway 8, Highway 5, Brock Road and Concession Road 5.
“The City of Hamilton thanks motorists, pedestrians and cyclists for their patience as we complete these important infrastructure repairs,” it wrote in a press release.
