Boxing Day shooting investigated in Hamilton

One person was shot on Boxing Day in Hamilton.

Emergency crews were called to the area of Proctor Blvd and King Street East for reports of shots fired Tuesday (Dec. 26) shortly before 7:30 p.m., Hamilton Police said in a press release.

One person was “struck with a projectile believed to be discharged from a firearm,” police said.

The person suffered non-life threatening injuries and was taken to hospital.

The shooting is believed to be targeted, police added.

The investigation is in the preliminary stages and there are no suspect descriptions available at this time.
