Body of a man found in an alley near a church in Hamilton

Hamilton police reportedly discovered the body of a man near an alley beside a church early this morning.
There is a heightened police presence in the area of Main Street East and Leinster Avenue South, where the victim was found.
A user on X (formerly Twitter) shared images of police cruisers at the scene, showing the area cordoned off with yellow tape. Reports suggest the homicide unit has been notified and forensic teams have arrived to begin the investigations.
The images also appear to show the church in the background where the unknown man’s body was reportedly found. The building also looks vacant, with its windows boarded up with wooden panels.
Hamilton Police have not confirmed the identity of the victim including details such as his age and place of residence.
The cause of death remains unknown at this time and it’s unclear whether the incident was a homicide, a targeted attack or something else.
Authorities have not released any information regarding the circumstances leading up to or following the discovery of the man’s body.
