Double shooting at Hamilton bar has police on the hunt for Beeton man

A search is on for a 22-year-old Beeton, Ontario man in connection with a shooting at a Hamilton bar that sent two people to hospital in late August.
The incident occurred at about 11:45 p.m. on Aug. 24 at Peddles Bar, at 1490 Barton St. E. The victims and a man got into a minor altercation, Hamilton Police said.
The man then “briefly left the altercation but returned a short time later from inside the bar and shot the victims at close range,” police added.
The two victims were taken to hospital for serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Police say at the time of the shooting, the patio area of the bar was filled with patrons.
An arrest warrant has been issued for Gary Patrick Cunningham, 22, of Beeton. He’s wanted on the following charges:
- Two counts of Discharge Firearm with Intent
- Two counts of Aggravated Assault
- Possession of a Prohibited Loaded Firearm
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Reckless Discharge of a Firearm
Cunningham, pictured below, is considered by police to be armed and dangerous. If seen, police say do not approach Cunningham and call 911 immediately.
