Arrests made in Hamilton break and enter, assault

Following the arrests of a man and woman on Thursday (July 4), three people have now been arrested and charged in connection with a Hamilton break and enter investigation as well as an assault at a Westdale residence.

On Sunday, June 16, 2024, Hamilton Police were called to a home located at 22 Parkside Drive for an incident which is currently being investigated by Provincial Animal Welfare Services, who investigate animal cruelty.

Three days later, between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. it’s alleged that individuals broke into the same residence and stole the occupant’s dog, a medium-sized black down named Buster.

The incident was captured on video by the perpetrators and would be widely shared on social media.

At 7 p.m. the same day, police responded to calls of a street disturbance in the area of Bond Street North at Norwood Road. The occupants of the 22 Parkside home had to return to the residence but were prevented from doing so after being confronted by a group of people, one of whom threw a water bottle at the female’s face.

This incident was also captured on video and shared on social media.

On June 29, 2024, a 45-year-old Hamilton woman turned herself into police for an assault caught on video. On Thursday (July 4), a male and female wanted in connection with the break and enter were also arrested.

With all charges currently before the courts, police say no further information will be released.
