$50,000 fake benefits flyers throughout the Hamilton located by police

Police in Hamilton are issuing a warning to residents after a series of fraudulent benefits flyers have been seen throughout the city.
In a post to X (formerly Twitter), Hamilton police posted an image of a confiscated document detailing a direct contact number to an ‘Ontario Benefits’ call line.
The document details that those who call the listed number can receive up to $50,000 if they are dealing with medical conditions that include, but are not limited to:
- ADHD
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Diabetes
- Eating Disorders
- Sleep Apnea
- Stroke
In their post, Hamilton police noted that in the event of coming across any of these falsified government advertisements that, “if it’s too good to be true, it probably is.”
Hamilton Police are warning the public of an “Ontario Benefits” scam circulating throughout the City of Hamilton. If it seems too good to be true, it probably is. Police officials then closed their statements by indicating that if any members of the public come across these flyers to be incredibly mindful of their validity.
