220 tickets issued during Canada Day weekend R.I.D.E program in Hamilton

While local residents were celebrating the country’s birthday this Canada Day long-weekend, Hamilton Police were busy ensuring the roads were safe for everyone.

The local R.I.D.E program was out in full force with 14 lanes. A total of 315 vehicles were pulled over with over 220 tickets being handed out by Hamilton Police.

Of the tickets issued during the Canada Day long-weekend enforcement, 106 were given for speeding. A total of 14 drivers were charged for impaired driving, including seven for alcohol.

“Thank you to everyone who drove safely and responsibly in Hamilton,” said police. “Let’s continue to keep our roads safe.”

Hamilton Police have posted Canada Day Long-Weekend Enforcement results over the last few years as a way reminding local drivers to drive safely.
