A Hamilton man faces multiple charges after a months-long drug trafficking investigation led to the seizure of nearly $140,000 worth of drugs.

Hamilton Police launched an investigation in July. This investigation led to three search warrants for two homes and a vehicle in the city on Dec. 11. During a raid at a home on Ferrie Street West police report they discovered 787 grams of cocaine and 612 grams of fentanyl.

The street is a four-block residential road in the city’s North End neighbourhood off James Street West near Bayfront Park.

Investigators estimate the drugs found are worth $139,900 on the street. They also report the discovery of a “large quantity” of cash, though they did not specify how much.

Ali Taulban, 23 of Hamilton, is charged with:

  • possession of cocaine for trafficking,
  • possession of fentanyl for trafficking,
  • possession of the proceeds of crime over $5,000 and
  • possession of the proceeds of crime under $5,000

Taulban has since been released on bail. The charges have not been proven in court.
