VIDEO: Man used as human shield in ‘reckless’ Hamilton shooting

Hamilton Police released new video footage Tuesday (Sept. 3) in an effort to identify the men involved in a “reckless” daylight shooting in early August.

The incident occurred around 7 p.m. on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at Sanford Avenue North, and King Street East.

The video shows the two men connected to the shooting. They are described as:

  • Shooter #1: A male, Black, late teens to early 20s, wearing black pants and a black or dark blue Puma hooded sweatshirt with the hood up.
  • Shooter #2: A male with a dark or tan complexion, wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt with the hood down and dark pants or blue jeans.

Hamilton Police are also asking a third male who was present at the shooting and is considered a witness to step forward and contact police.

The male “was used as a human shield during the exchange of gunfire.”

“This individual’s account could be critical in bringing clarity to the events that transpired, and we urge him to come forward,” said police.

He is described as follows:

  • Witness #1: A male, Black, late teens to early 20s, wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt and black pants.

Hamilton police are requesting the public’s help in identifying and locating the two men captured in the video of the shooting.
